Please give honest review of my website..

Hi,

I am a web designer and at the same time blogger. This past month I have created my first blog about tech. Please give it a honest review

Design is not bad..its seem to be very simple..

 

Nice colour scheme but header image needs sharpening up - displaying slightly blurry here...

 

The color scheme isn't bad--which is good for you. One thing I would take into consideration is the navigation and the header image. The navigation is rectangular whereas the header is slightly rounded..you might want to think about sticking with one of the two. I generally tend to build my sites consistently so if I was doing that I would find a way to stay consistent by either making the navigation rollovers have rounded corners, or make the header rectangular. If you like it the way it is, you should atleast add a 5-10px margin on the left side of the navigation that way it will stay within the area of where the header image is instead of sticking out into the headers container. You might also want to play with the idea of centering the navigation and adding margins between each item to spread it out, this would look very professional. I would also give the background some type of design...maybe look for a brick pattern and adjust it so it fits your color scheme. You'd be amazed how much a background can do for the whole feel of the website. Overall its a pretty solid layout, the last bit of tweaking I would do would be putting very SIMPLE and SUBTLE gradients on the content sections(don't overdo it)...did you happen to make it with Artisteer?

I would give the design and functionality a 7/10. Its average/above average but not a fully top end website, graphically speaking.

 

Looks nice. The colors and layout all match nicely.

 

I really like your color scheme its cool! Also the site is simple looking and easy to navigate and find information. the only thing i would change is maybe adding something to the left of your top banner.

@ mnicklas14 - Thank you for this kind and honest feedback, I design it using Thesis Theme version 1.8, you know it is so hard to modify this theme T_T. Artisteer is good, and I manage to do many web design using artisteer, but i don't like other features of it. So I don't use artisteer now. I want to give also some kind of design in the background but, I am having a hard time finding tutorial on how to change background image on thesis theme.

@ trio - I just thinking that maybe i will place ad code in the top side of the header O_O..

 

Header need to be more professional.

Background colour can be changed, Design is very simple.

I like navigation of your website.

Well, not a bad start...But I think you should change your color scheme.

 

Good work so far. Think better for masthead, a clear, crisp logo will standout more. Try out a different color scheme as well.
