Does anyone here do SEO for local keywords? I am currently spending some time trying to educate few people in the chiropractic industry after some chiropractor in houston scammed my mother and I want to have a website ranking in google for terms like chiropractor in houston explaining the situation and helping people find the right chiropractors. Now the problem is, I have never focused on local keywords like that. Competition is not too fierce so I dont think it would be hard to rank for local keywords like that but still I dont see any web 2.0 property or article site anywhere in top 50 for local keywords like that. Does that mean, its not worth trying article marketing or starting a blog or is it better to have a website built just for those keywords? I know its a confusing question, maybe someone who does local seo can help!
The SEO for local keywords is the same as other keywords. Usually local words are a lot easier to rank for as well (ie. Houston Chiropractic Clinic etc).
All I do is local SEO (Google Places) and farm out all my organic to partners that I have. Depending on what you are looking for I can probably help you out. If you have chiropractors that want to be front page for local search I can do that. If you just want to get a website telling people the story that is not my expertise but is still a valid goal. Local Keywords are really easy to rank for... Just treat it as a normal site and build backlinks using your keywords.
