Hello guys Be careful with this paypal fraud. http://www.islam.gov.my/online/cgi/webscr_cmd=_login-run/primapagina.htm Looks exactly like paypal regards aditya
Except for the http://www.islam.gov.my/online/cgi/webscr_cmd=_login-run/primapagina.htm in the address bar. There are many of those out there, you should always check your address bar and confirm HTTPS is being used.
Firefox (or something in Firefox) automatically warned me when I entered that page and asked if I wanted to leave. Never seen that happen before.
I get those all the time too. Be sure you fwd it/them to "spoof@paypal.com" If you think you have received a fake email pretending to be from PayPal, forward the entire email to and then delete it from your email account. If you came across a fake PayPal website, contact our Customer Service team. ebay is the same way, I got one just the other day...looked just like a "checkout" email and it was asking me to "complete the checkout process"....except of course that I haven't bought anything from ebay in months AND it was for a witchcraft book Yeah, those must be hot items
I get those via email from time to time, and my wife and I both do quite a bit of shopping at eBay, so it's always a chore to validate each payment request.
This way it seems to be too easy to fool any body .... man like the express checkout system of paypal...someonemay sell something on the net on a website and integrate a fake paypal payment system to get the passwords. seems to be a easy task... i was shocked... i am a paypal newbie so quite afraid now.
If you get fooled for not looking at the address bar, you deserve to be fooled... Cmon its not that hard to make sure https://www.paypal.com/ is in your address bar, and nothing else.
Personally, I have received tonnes of fraud Paypal emails into my email account. They're always there practically everyday! Just can't get rid of them, the only way is to completely ignore them and hope that your spam filtering works.
phishing always pay attention to the complete url when you even recieve a mail or be prepared to get fooled ..!!
most people SHOULD know better but they don't and or they just don't pay attention and then it bites them in the buttock region.
Paypal will ALWAYS address an email to you using your name and never Dear Customer. That's another tip. NEVER respond to an eMail from any page or address no matter how cleaverly disquised that says Dear Customer or Dear PayPal member.
Should never follow a link to Paypal or any other type of "Internet bank" or site with sensitive information. Open a new browser window and type in the address, always.
I'd really suggest you report that website to PayPal; I can't believe people rip sites and large corporations like that. I hope that bitch gets nailed and sued for all his scumbag is worth.
yep i have reported to google as well as paypal both.... man and the best thing to hear is the domain name ".gov.my" ...government website and the second best thing is the two icons on the bottom of the fake page says "eTrust Internet Privacy" an so on ... LOL ...seems funny
Sad... so sad. It's a pretty convincing spoof, except that all the links point to the same page, the url doesn't look like Paypal's even remotely, and it asks for your credit card information as soon as you "log in". I remember a few years ago someone was using paypaI.com to phish accounts. That's a hell of a lot sneakier than islam.gov.my.
good point on the link being overtly obvious as to being fraudulent. I would also like to offer my DL & SSN, where is that link again
