I am a newbie in to SEO, i would like to know which will give best result? whether Article submission or forum posting?

Both gives us back links, is there any other advantage or disadvantage because of this?

    Thank you.

Thanks friends, is there any disadvantage for both of them?
in article submission, i think we shoudn't post duplicate content. is there anything else i should taken care of?
    another question is
what number of article to be made for your website in a month or week.
let me know what count will give best result?

In my opinion article submissions would give you better quality links. An article is more likely to be rich with your targeted keywords because you have written it yourself. Also, I'd say an article is going to be more useful content in the eyes of google than a forum post.

True. Forum links are not worth that much , especially signature ones.

A good article would also make a good guest post at some blog, and that gives you another decent link ;)

If you are using high quality sites for article submissions then article submission is good.

I would say Articles every time because they are more often than not well written content that people are searching for, Google loves great content.

There is no point submitting duplicate content as Google will know, so you are right about that, original every time.

As for the number of articles per week/month, it really is up to you, I try and do around 3 a week, but would do more if I had the time, it is something that I will be outsourcing soon.

The thing to remember is that as long as you have a good title for your articles, then people will click on them and if you provide good content, then they will click your links through to your website, so the more articles you have out there, the more back links and the more potential traffic to your site.

Also if your articles are well written other people will use them on their sites, which gives you more exposure.

    I hope this helps

Both are good, but article submission has wider possibilities.

    Cheers!

In order to gain ranking improvements I don't think there is anything better than keyword anchor text links placed within relevant articles distributed throughout the internet... Be sure that you are careful of who picks your article up. Track your articles with a Google Alert or something similar so that you can be sure who is using your content... If you are not careful you can have some really dirty article directories linking to you, which isn't very beneficial...

I believe forum posts hold value of a different kind... They can be extermely valuable driving traffic to your website.... (which is likely to convert to a download / sale). Usually, there are many rules about posting links in forums which makes it difficult anyway. Often, hours of work can lead to very little in terms of a backlink profile as before the links get indexed they have all been removed by moody moderaters!! This means they are not good for volume... Consider this though...

When you query a search engine for a question, such as "what wheels look really good on my audi", it is very likely that a forum post will appear high in the rankings because somebody has asked the same question you just asked in a related forum...

Search for this question - the top 5 results in google are all forums!

Right, so if you are wanting to build backlinks for your alloy-wheel company selling a range of wheels for audi's online, then forums are a brilliant place to do it. Just be sure to make sure there is more than just a link in the post. Also, try and make your post a reply to someone elses thread, whereby you can drop in a link which genuinely adds some value to the original question... This way it looks like you are helping another forum member out... Rather than just trying to market your products / services using other peoples websites...

    Hope this helps

Articles are great quality but you can usually get many more forum profiles per $ than article links.

As always with SEO it's best to do a varied mix of forums, articles, purchased links, blog comments, etc.

Here's another idea that a lot of people forget about...

Why not take that article and make it into a video? Then send it out to YouTube, Veoh, Viddler, etc...

In fact, one single article can generate you two or three 1 minute or 90 second videos; by taking one main point from each article and using that for your vid.

On top of that, when uploaded to seven or ten different video sites, you now have some strong backlinks from high PR sites as long as you use your page URL in your video description.

Are videos hard to make? Not really; I can crank out about one video every ten or fiteen minutes... And they look pretty good.

Here's a sample video that took me about 15 minutes to do... Judge for yourself whether it is worth anything....

    Sample 15 Minute Video

Dont think to much, just build links... article submissions and forum profiles are both good... Dont build just one kind of links.. Mix it up so it looks more natural..
