I need to be able to track incoming calls and then forward them to a specific number. For instance: User dials special phone number -> this forwards to a different phone number The callers that dial the "special phone number" are tracked and I can see what their phone number is and other information on them - perhaps how long the call lasted etc. Is there any service like this? I've been looking around
Not sure if there's a service exactly like that. But the one I use, Onesuite has a Forwarding Service where you can get a phone number, forward it to a number of your choice and then log calls to that number (date, time, number and yes how long the call lasted). Everything is prepaid so no need to sign up for plans or anything with Onesuite.
Have you looked at any of the VoIP offerings? There are loads out there and they will offer some or all of these features, along with plenty which you probably haven't considered (i.e. virtual switchboard, call recording, etc).
Virtual PBX and other modern phone systems provides separate configuration and settings for each extensions. Meaning, one extension, for example, can have its own call forwarding, call screening, answering rules, voicemail, custom greetings, music/message on-hold or internet fax settings.
Not sure if you can track the number of "Special" or "restricted", but I have access from VirtualGlobalPhone where I can check date, duration and caller and I can have call forwarded to the destination of my choice online anytime..
