Hi, I've this client that has one website made in html and the exactly same website exists on 8 different domains (domain.com, .net, .org, my-domain.com,...) and now he wants to change the meta tags on all files of all domains.

I know that there's a software that can search and replace on a lot of files at the same time, but I really can't remember the name.

    Anyone have something in mind?

    Thanks

It sure can, in three easy steps.
    1. Select all the files then right-click and pick "Edit with Notepad++".
    2. Hit CTRL+H to bring up the Replace dialog, fill in the boxes then hit "Replace in all documents".
    3. Hit Save All and you are done.

Certain software can actually search through folders and files and do it.... CuteFtp's built in editor can do that... Download and use the "free trial"... It's by globalscape ==> http://cuteftp.com/

    Cheers!~

There is no software that can replace some text on a remote file without opening the files itself.

You can use netbean ide, importing all the website into new project and then search from the project. It will find and replace all text inside that project and autosave to the server

Download -- write a quick program to open each file and make the changes, save each-- reinstall on the server. Quick program- Java or C.

    Q...
