H1 headings

Hi

Iam using shopperpress theme for my shoopping site www.vamclays.com and now trying to optimize the site to SEO, found that there are three heading tags

This site has 3 H1 headings.

•Welcome to our website
•Hot Selling Items
•Recently Added Items

How do i remove these headings?

just remove this code h1 to p tag

I would recommend keeping only 1 and it should have your keyword in it.. or its a waste.

 

It's better to use header tag for header than <p> tag. Instead <h1> use other header tags <h2> to <h6>

 

well you can use accept h1 to the sub heading

 

the H1 and H2 tags are not as needed in SEO as they use to, if you notice, alot of the top ranked websites dont even have H1 tags, your title and content is more important then anything and of course backlinks

 

I strongly disagree. Even if those sites doesn't have a heading tag, those sites may probably have thousands of quality backlinks. Using heading tags is just another on-page optimization technique.

 

Yes, although h2 and h3 tags are no longer that popular with in this era, I personally still feel that it is good to have. It wont cause much stress in the sites anyway..

Remove other two H1's and keep only one Header Tag and make sure that the keyword should be in the H1 tag.

 

I also definitely recommend that importance of Heading tags in still there in SEO and plays much vital role while a page is searched in any search engine. That's why niche sites are always recommended not to have more than one H1 tags in a page. It definitely has got its role to play.

In this case I will suggest not to remove the other 2 H1 tags, but replace them with H2 tags, keeping one H1 as it is.

 

H1 tags absolutely do have SEO value, in fact I'd say quite a bit. H2's carry some, H3s not much at all. BUT keep in mind they have other value: they are the first text your visitors will see, because they're bigger, and, well, headers. Put in keywords visitors searched for and they're less likely to bounce. If you're running Adwords, keywords in H1, H2 tags will increase your quality score.

 

You can style the tags to look any way you wish. You can either define the style in a CSS file or individually on each tag.

 

H1 and h2 tag is important factors for SEO. Avoid 3 H1 tags. To use one H1 tag and two H2 tags.

For one web page we are take one H1 tag which is your keyword(Title of your page).
Then also used H2, H3 etc.. for sub heading.

 

I have to agree with some of the people on here about H1 tags being important in SEO. I recently read a publication by Google that specifically said that pages are scanned for the H1 tags. I also agree that you should limit the number and make sure you have keywords in them. Maybe you should put the business name instead of just "Welcome to our shop" if this is on the main page.

 

SEO Moz says there should only be one H1 tag per page for best seo results.

Just remove the <h1></h1> tags from those particular words. Save it. Re-upload it to your website host.

 

H1 Tags are definitely important factors in SEO. The Google ranking algorithm dictates that if you’re using a <h1> tag, then the text in between this tag must be more important than the content on the rest of the page.

 

When you want to design your page you shud create the external .CSS file. but don't contain H1 tag more than 1, its just a waste, content between H1 tags shud be a keyword, google will crawl faster in this way
