Just Made Google News Listing

Hey Alex, just had a look at your site, and looks nice. Did you design it yourself, or purchase it from a website creation company?

I know it's always hard to find time to admin your site, but I think huge achievements such as getting through that stage of the Google News application are real high points, and make it all worthwhile! I think you should stick with it - you seem to enjoy it, and although it's a chore posting ya five a day, it'll be good!

Hi Rich,

The design on the site is a modified version of a premium template that was created for a sports portal but it didn't have a flow to it in terms of the niche so i redesigned the look of the site and i like how it has turned out.

Your right about the fact that getting into Google News is a big deal and i am pleased about it, just hope i can make a clean sweep of the week and submissions and get into DMOZ and NewsNow.

The addition of those two would truly improve my chances of making the site work for me, its a game that i am passionate about but its hard to remain focused when you get so little return through your ads.

I'll get there and i have opted to hold onto the site, at least until i am getting 50k visitors per month anyway.

Taken alot of time and effort to get the site to where it is now and so would like a handsome return for my time and dedication.

Getting into something like Google News can be a long process if you are having to alter a huge site into something that fits within the requirements that they are looking for but i built my site around those, making it faster and easier to tick all the required boxes when they review the site.

 

Just keep going, make sure that you check what they are looking for and then look to meet them before re-applying for consideration.

 

Congratulations, Sometimes the press release sites give ur article as news in google news search !!

 

Yeah, hopefully there should be more traffic set to hit the site and any linking into the site will be gratefully received

Hi Brian,

The theme is different from that of the one that i use on my site, but they have used the same background image which does make it seems like they are similar.

As for the content from the site, he has asked for permission to use small amounts of content from the site as long as he provides links back to the page on my site that he finds the news from.

Was asked by PM how much getting into Google News would increase the value of my site... Personally i have no idea? Anyone else wish to comment?

 

It’s all about traffic…

Being listed within Google News brings traffic and AdSense clicks, more clicks earns more money and increases the value of the site.
