How to change the images for the featured posts for my theme

I am sure this is easy to do, but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to do this. All I want to do is change the images for the featured posts. Do I need to install a certain type of plugin? Is there a file I need to change? Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Click "Posts" menu in left side of the admin page and find the featured post. then click the edit menu of the feature post and find custom fields below the post field. There u can see the image name (eg: image.jpg)

Thank you for the recommendation. However, when I locate the custom fields area, there isn't an image listed there. Am I supposed to put the image name that I want there? If so, where do I upload the image to?

I am using the theme DarkGloss. If it helps, you can see my site and the feature posts slider I am trying to edit HERE.

Check your "themes options" in left side of the admin page for "Featured Content Glider".

There is not an area in the theme options to change the images for the slider. The only options for the slider are featured category and number of posts.

make new image and name it feat-default.jpg

then upload to wp-content/themes/darkgloss/images/and replace existing feat-default.jpg with your new feat-default.jpg

Thank you for the suggestion. However, there are 5 featured posts, so I would like a different image for each one that is relevant to the post that goes with it. I have seen this on several other sites, so I know it is possible. Any idea how to do it?

Assumed you know how to use custom fields.

For big images use this in your custom field ---> feat-img

For small ones use this ----> feat-cat-img

You really need to read the instructions on how to set up the theme. Every theme with Featured Images does not operate the same way.
all we can do is guess without being able to see your admin panel or theme docs.
There isn't a universal solution that works on all blogs with featured images.
