Who is making money from e-commerce?

I too just built my first ecommerce site. Within 24 hours I have over 1300 products through reputable dropshippers and built relationships with well-known shopping sites. I bought my domain name and ssl cert for $22 dollars when go daddy had their ssl sale and I have to say, it was really, really easy! I only spent 22 bucks and forsee good sales in the near future. I will be doing a lot of work the first few days on promotion here and then I will continue to build a product line with reputable drop shippers!

I should tell you that I am a professional PHP/MySQL developer so I may have a bit of an edge over noobs. Seriously, if you want to do it, go open source and full force!

2. What earns the consumers' trust?
3. How important is the recognition of a seller's name?
4. What makes the consumers decide to buy?

I started an ecommerce site back in 2008 selling electrical goods (Unbranded). Its very hard at first because you need to learn the ropes. I started of with magneto cart and opencart (Shopping carts). You can get started by getting a domain , Hosting and a website shopping cart installed to your hosting. Also with products you will need to buy in bulk to make decent money(100's). I started dropshipping which basically means that you sell a persons item for them , You accept the payment , Pay the dropshipper and they will send the item directly to your customer. Its a good way of earning easy money as it requires no money to start up with. The best money is in unbranded goods as these generally cost small amounts but sell for alot of profit.
