Blog Commenting - Are You Kidding Me? Why You Need To Do It Yourself

ha ha ha ha ha ha! I laughed so hard at this!

The above text is a comment I received on my blog not too long ago. It obviously went to my "SPAM Comments Section", but I still like to go into that folder and read some of the lame a$$ comments.

I'm sure the above is and was done by someone using some particular software and really had no clue on what they were actually doing. I really hope someone didn't use that as a service and got that comment blasted onto millions upon millions of blogs with their website and anchor text attached. That would royally suck!

This is also a good example for those that are interested in buying or using blog commenting as a way of marketing and building backlinks - that it's really a must to do it yourself manually, or higher someone that you know is going to do it themselves, manually.

Don't get me wrong though, there are some blog commenting software's out there that do work, but it really comes down to who is going to do it for you and what kind of comment they are going to write.

Anyone else have any other stupid A$$ comments that people also try to post on your blogs or websites that you would like to share with us?

I always submit my own comments, that's because I want people to know that it's actually me. I have visited their blog and I have left the comment. It's a way to network and build trust, not just a way to drive fast short-term traffic to a website.

I have received a lot of similar spam comments as you have, but after I started using disqus for wordpress, I hardly receive any spam.

I get a lot of spam comments sayng how beautiful my site and they have subscribed my RSS and other BS. People who use these SW are stupid. They use same comment for everyone.

I have three blogs all dofollow at the beginning but right now I am tired of deleting these BS comments. So, I have changed my blogs to nofollow. Let's see if these comments starts to decrease.

My anime site is getting hit hard with spam but they all go to my moderation queue. I have also changed from do follow to no follow on some of my sites. These spammers are very annoying and useless at it. I wouldn't mind if they just comment on topic with the articles I write, I mean how hard can it be?

It's a shame because these spammers are really ruining a good form of community for serious contributors. Allowing dofollow is a good way to reward those who contribute properly to a blog.

I always leave the blogs that I manage as dofollow and install Akismet plus reCaptcha to control the spam. That gets rid of 95% of it without me having to even look at it, the other 5% I can manage manually.

Yes indeed allowing "DoFollow" in a site makes it not to happen for spammers and illegitimate posters that roaming around the web today. This is a good way controlling them.

    Hey Bud!

Haven't seen you around in a while.. How are things? Blog Buddy still kicking it, right?

Anyway, it is definitely much much better to do it manually and write something that pertains to what you just read... Even if its only 7 words long, just do it yourself..

And if you do decide to higher someone, make sure they show you some good references as to where they have provided these services and that they were done manually.

I do the same thing... I actually use both of them as well..But, every now and then, I like to check out what people are writing for others.

Because, clearly, the above blog comment was done by a software and done by someone that is a real idiot. lol ;)

Do you write comments for your clients exactly the same way you posted the above comment in this thread?

Because I really don't understand what you are asking me that is a "stupid way".

is that even a comment? That's horrible, they should be able to check the type of comments the blogger is going to use before actually paying them for this type of crap.

I am personally very sick of spam. This is a screenshot taken just a few minutes ago from one of my blogs:

And that blog is only 3 months old. It's now nofollow and I'm getting a ton less spam. I think all of my blogs will stay nofollow from now on. Anyone using automated software for SEO is ruining the game for everyone.

    Exactly my point....

Blog commenting is actually fun, though tedious... But, it works and actually works well.

But, you can't have crappy written comments and expect you have your site/comment approved...

    SHEESH!
