hi all,i heard that Article Submission is one of the Major thing for SEO

But,i found that when we are submitting article,we do not include our site url,we just add some important information and submit...how this can help for SEO of our site??How it can know that this article was submitted from this site?

Please Explain me clearly...

if possible,pls mention the rules to be followed to submit an article for SEO purpose...
