I used to check it often, but I just force myself to think, I could b building a new campaign with the time I check my stats.

Not necessary to get addicted to checking statistics every day. Instead it is better to concentrate on site or blog and seo aspects of it and backlinks. Try to have a look at statistics once in a while - weekly or once in 10 days like that.
I have a compulsive disorder when it comes to checking stats on my sites.. I can literally spend 2 hours going over all the sites daily.. I guess better to have your finger on the pulse than not though.
Nothing wrong with this, at the end of the day if you are out of sync with what is happening on your site, you are out of sync with your site. No point writing 1000 posts on your site only to find that 3 of them were worth anything to your visitors.
Checking Analytics stats regularly - just an overview, not necessarily in depth - is always a good idea; this way you make sure all you content is ok, you notice irregularities before they get to have consequences. So 2-3 times a week is ideal, I think.
I used to check my Clickbank stats every few hours (LOL!!) but not anymore now since I've stopped using them as my main payment processor. Like you, I just can't resist.
Depends how well it is going. If it's going well I like to check more often. Less often when doing less good, well nothing much to check really.
I have my statistics open all the time, but I am only looking at certain data often. I look at analytical data for campaign sites more often than niche sites, and the same for revenue. I keep a very close eye on any advertising to get the best CTR without spending too much.
I think stats should be checked daily, why? So you know the activity taking place on your site. If there is a sudden drop in traffic you will know and figure out what the problem is. Checking stats is like maintenance in my opinion.
