You know... I thought it was fake too but look at the address...... mail.thefacebook.com ==> it's registered to Facebook

not going to be facebook mail but maybe some internal setup or something...

thefacebook was what they called facebook when it first started.

My thoughts exactly. Its probably been there for ages and used internally for facebook staff.
If facebook's rumored "new Email service" turned out to be "Microsoft Exchange", they would be laughed at.
Although... that won't stop people being fooled into thinking its legit and/or using it as link bait.

    Cheers

I'm going with old, dated and unused rather than link bait...

They will be launching email and you are correct, if they used MS Exchange, they would be boo'd all the way to the border of shameville... hahhahaha...

But they are expected to announce the launch FB mail... which actually would be great so I can separate all my SN crap notifications and email... lol

Won't hurt or kill Gmail or the other services... If anything it would takes some of the strain that all of the notifications put on the servers... hahaha...

    Cheers!~

Can't see Facebook putting their name to something that looks like it has been created on Microsoft Paint.

Its more of a bad news for privacy concerned folks. I would not want to put my life with face book. The look is bland and i have personally started to hate them too. The Facebook network is getting way too much powerful everyday.
