    It certainly does, since PR is Google's way of determining the authority of a s ite, so the higher the PR the higher Google deems the site worthy

    SERP - backlinks

    But PR updates only once a certain amount of time, they have only 1 thing in common "backlikn"s, of course u don't expect a PR 7 domain to rank very bad , dont u?

    True, but ... the toolbar PR is at most a few months old. Unless the "real" PR is wildly fluctuating (and it rarely will do that), the toolbar PR probably represents a reasonably accurate picture of where Google has you. The "real" numbers may be on some different numerical scale (only Google knows), but the toolbar PR still represents a periodically updated snapshot of the trend of those internal Google numbers.

    Any webpage can get ranked top in SERP even it has 0PR. However I have never see this happened on very competitive search terms.

    PR is google's way to evaluate pages not sites. If a page receives more backlinks from related pages it will be more relevant than page with less backlinks. Remember > content is king. PR will come naturally

    Google Pagerank and Google ranking (SERP ranking) are two different things. There is lots of site with PR0 that are doing very well in SERP ranking.
