Paths for keyword SEO - Wordpress

I am a rank beginner at S.E.O., and have spent the last week reading and asking questions in various places, trying to get my head around improving the SEO for my computer repairs website. I have been advised to use Wordpress, and after weighing up the pros and cons, it seems like the best platform for what I want to achieve.

My domain name (the name of my business, WSCR), is not keyword optimised.

I want to use keywords in the path and html page names of the new Wordpress site, ie hteeteepee:wscr.com.au/computer_repairs/computer_repairs.html. Is this possible/advisable?

The keyword research I have done yielded the following results as the premium keywords in my industry

    computer repair computer
    computers repair
    computer repair
    laptop for repair
    laptop repair
    computer technician
    computer repairs services
    computer repair services
    onsite computer
    computer service and repairs
    computer repairs service

At this stage I am thinking the best approach would be to make a page and a path for each of the keywords above, and then optimise the pages with wording for high density of the keywords. Is this a sensible approach?

I have just purchased the theme and am in the process of installing it, and my concern is about getting a good infrastructure at the outset which I can then build on as I develop the site's content.

I realise these are very naeve questions to anyone who understands this stuff. As I said (and it probably very obvious from what Im asking) I dont know much at all. Hoping someone can point me in the right direction, so I dont mess it up too much at the outset :)

Any suggestions on how to achieve these aspects with Wordpress would be most appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Jim

You don't need your domain to contain your keywords. Just include them in the titles of your site and in your content.

I would suggest you to use some SEO plugins for Wordpress to achieve your linking structure. I don't know which SEO plugins for WP are best now, but I'm fine with these 2: All-in-one SEO pack and SEO slugs.

With these plugins you can achieve URLs like e.g.:
    wscr.com.au/computer-repairs
    wscr.com.au/laptop-for-repair
    wscr.com.au/computer technician

    Hi Jim,

It definitely helps to have the keywords in your title, domain name, and content. You may want to consider registering another domain name with the keyword and alias your existing domain name so that it points to your new domain name. Something like yourcity-computer-repair.

When you update your settings, make sure that permalinks is turned on. I use the month/day/title version. When you create a new post, you can edit the permalink if necessary to make it more concise and have the keywords that you are looking for.

Also, I recently did a post on the plugins that I use to maximize security, usability, and SEO:

22 Best Must Have WordPress Plugins

If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

The toughest thing to do is get traffic. The more traffic the better Google likes your blog and the higher SERP it gives you because they sense that visitors are finding it valuable. Make sure your customers know about the site and visit it for information. Make sure you are listed in Google Places and have a link to your blog in that directory. There are other things you can do, but this is a good start.

Hi and thanks for your reply

I actually bought a set of keyword-related domain names a few days ago. How would you suggest I make best use of these?

Im thinking I just take the best one, and from what you are saying I then alias the existing domain to the new domain. Just to clarify, does this mean that I then host the Wordpress site on the new domain and use a redirect from my existing URL?

Does this then mean that my backlinking efforts then be focussed on the new url?

    The domains I own are:

    laptoprepairsadelaide.com.au
    adelaidepcrepairs.com.au
    pcrepairadelaide.com.au
    adelaidelaptoprepairs.com.au
    Code (markup):
top ranking keywords in this area are

    computers repair
    computer repairing
    computer repair
    laptop repair
    pc repair
    computer repair services
    onsite computer
    computer repairs service
    computer service and repairs
    onsite computer repairs
    computers repair service
    computer service and repair
    computer repair service
    computer repair and service
    laptop computer repairs
    local computer services
    computer repairs and services
    computer repair adelaide
    adelaide computer repairs
    computer repair laptops
    laptop computer repair
    computer services and repair
    computer repair & services
    Code (markup):
Does the order the keywords are in the actual domain name matter to Google?

For example if 'computer repairing' is number 1, is it possible to use 'repairingcomputer.com.au'?

Yes, I would concentrate on the best domain name that fits your keywords and content. You can Google on your keywords to compare to your competitors who have high SERP. Eliminate any keywords from your title that users will probably not be typing in because they would be superfluous to the subject, but if you have to have them, then they should be toward the end.
