What To Do If You Ever Get Penalized By Google

First off, avoid spammy black-hat tactics so this never happens. But, if you’ve been a bad boy/girl, this is what you should do:

    1. Find out why it happened. Read Google Webmaster Guidelines and find out what you’ve done wrong.
    2. Fix it.
    3. Ask Google to reconsider your site. Admit to everything and don’t pretend you didn’t know what you were doing. Promise that you won’t do it again.
    4. Don’t do it again!

Samual, there are tools on the that help check your site status on Google if it is possibly in penalty. Manually you can check you site's cache date, use info:yoursite command or if you dropped or loose rankings or PR...

Google doesn't typically announce which sites have been penalized (however it did make an example out of BMW.de a few years back). If you notice drastic decline in google rankings. for example: last month you were at the first page SERP but then the this month you're not even in the first 3 SERP. chances are you were penalized. I believe you can contact Google and plead your case or you can check Google's webmaster guidelines and make changes your site...

In such a case you should immediately report it to google before being penalized by google. This could help you as you have yourself reported the matter. Request google to check your site and assure that you haven't done it.

I don't think only optimizing parameters of pages and fixing them can help penalized websites. Many websites optimized their pages well and they did exactly as Google Webmaster Guidelines but they are penalized by Google. Most penalization cases are happening because off-page mistakes like bad link building or such this problems.

Its very rare, even when admitting to all your mistakes, that your account will be reactivated once penalised.

It's actually not rare if it was rare then Google wouldn't waste there time with offering reconsideration.

    My questions:
How do you know your site is penalized?

    Ye,i think thats the point..
for example: there is no pages indexed in google any more,,
    or
your site has been removed from 1st or 2nd page of google search..

    need your reply!

Google does NOT inform website owners of any imposed penalties - even when prompted.
This non-transparency is at the heart of our new campaign to get search engines to at least confirm whether a penalty restriction has been put in place.

To help us build a voice and to join our growing list of websites which have suffered a suspected penalty but not been able to confirm this, please email me at and I will provide you with the access details to the campaign site (due to be launched soon).

One the main sign of penalizing is lost of your positions. Try to think over your last steps for 2 month. You may have very intensified optimization. Only one tip to you - use white SEO and try to behave like ordinary web creator.
