shouldn't make all that much of a significant difference. could plug it into the keyword tool and look at the wordtracker results for your specific niche if it's really important.

just don't go with fora. ;)

Both get searched. I personally prefer the singular version. High end domain sales favour "forum" names as well.

    The question is

What are you going to use in the anchor text for backlinks to your site? Singular & plural? Therein lies the answer!;)

I'd go for forums, but forum isn't bad either (forum can be a place).

Really you should be varying anchor text with both terms. So that just confuses things ;)

I'd go for forum, the singular if the forum you're starting is the first in it's niche. Makes it look like the place.

That's my logic as well. Forget the rest, you want to be the forum. Domain sales are always a good indicator too.

That doesn't show the breakdown for USA searches. My sites get found with both, so I think they are both just as important.

I think there are something difference with forums word. You can see most of the biggest and popular forum use the forums word. Like sitepoint, digitalpoint, freewebspace.
Its actually because all these are discussion boards which are the collection of lots of forums. Forum mean a individual section of a board to discuss about one forum topic with individual threads.

So i think forums should be the best choice :) and also if you buy both then its more better choice :)

    Regards

    True...

Are we talking only USA searches, I guess i missed that then...

Of course both are searched, but not equally (which the graph shows).

Why.. You decided to go with forum and forums as redirect..

And forum is much more searched than forums so it seems correct...

I agree, I'd go for forum. It's a programming standard to use the singular. eg. At work, we use the Account table instead of the Accounts table
