i learn with macromedia dreamweaver. i also read eBook to improve my skills.

 

I guess web design is more of an art than practicable skill.

But practice take one to certain extend. so practice practice practice..

I am a software engineer cum web designer, I learned by reading and practice. But I were a s/w for years before i touched web design, I touched because I needed some CSS skills for my programming work.

 

Text books, analysing the code of exisiting websites, online tutorials and ALOT of practice!

 

The "PHP Bible" is a good book to start on programming.

I read a couple of books... 1 about html/css, one about php and mySQL and one about javascript, learned the rest using common sense and online tutorials.

 

First you learn some basic about html. and slicing would be difficult for new commers.you just put some simple img on dreamweaver for your practice then you gain some knowlege about html.

Learnt html/css myself from that and other online resources.

I learnt HTML then CSS then JS, in that order. Mastering HTML was key to a good foundation to learn css and js off.

 

Its a life long work in progress. Lots of failures and trials. My coding still leaves a lot to be desired. That can be seen quickly with firebug. lol

 

I learned web design by simply exploring macromedia software and adobe photoshop.

 

Web design is a extremely complex thing . Learning how to code a simple site takes minutes if you're a quick learner but it's process that never stops . Creativity and ingenuity are limitless and since we're at the cutting edge of one of the most volatile domains we can never stop improving ourselves .

 

YEs its true slicing is much difficult to get proper img that what you want in dreamweaver ,but it gona be also intresting work which your best work !

 

I learn web design not from my school but from my own self.. It is started from blogging then i try to design my own template etc.

You just need to practice and practice as always.

Website design is a very important aspect of setting up and managing a website, especially if you want to attract visitors to your website.

 

I learned it from basically looking at a lot of source codes on websites. Don't try to decipher complex sites, just simple ones. Learn how placement is done, style sheets are done. Some people still use tables but most are going to css (div world). I suggest you learn css mock up.
