There are some interesting increases and decreases in the directory world. What Directories had the biggest PR change? Time for the proud papas to pass out the cigars. Lets hear about them.
Congrats Sublime Directory. That is quite a jump. I would advise to go slow and steady for awhile on the link gathering. You don't want to follow in Bluefind's foot steps.
wow thats a huge step up l234244! My www.onebigindex.com went from 0 to 4... all internal pages have a PR too
So far we have: Sublime Directory 0 to 6 Best Web Directories 0 to 5 www.onebigindex.com 0 to 4 Just for Teens 0 to 2
OneStop Directory has moved from PR 3 to PR 5 . We will keep one time $10 submission fee. thanks for all the support from DP members. www.onestop-directory.com
Didn't see any change on my main page in PR, but a lot of the internal pages went up, usually from 0 to 3
In January, most of their listings stopped being indexed in Google. I believe the consensus was that they had purchased too many links too fast. They were a PR8 but we know now that Google penalizes sites with an unnatural link growth pattern.
It appears that Google keeps a history of links, when they first appeared and their link text. They would have some sort of stats on what is normal link growth and would probably discount the value of your links if they exceed the norms by too much. There is more... You should be fine if you don't get too aggressive with link exchanging and link purchasing.
Great. That means you have to guess what Google decides is the norm for link increasing rates. If anyone has any data on that, it would be appreciated.
It seems after a long anticipated Google Pagerank Update, http://www.UncoverTheNet.com has risen to a PR8 web presence.... 0 ---> 7 ----> 8 This is substantial news. Considering the fact that the most popular web directory in the world, DMOZ.com, a Netscape Project is a PR8 - this news is of epic proportion! It should be recognized by the entire search community IMO.
