How many directories should I submit?

Is there any general rule that how many directories should I submit my site? Do you get any penalty for submitting too many directories or this is like more you submit more you gain.

 

Do as many as possible just remember to use different descriptions and titles.

SEO is very important to the Internet Advertiser but it is not an easy task to do. If you are a newbie, it would be probably better to hire a profesional to set it up for you. It does involve knowledge of right keywords and meta tag codes.

I mostly submit my main opportunity site to Search Engines every month without ever quiting. Important issue with search engines is that you want your opportunity site being submitted to as many search engines as possible. Main ones are not always the best. Some of the less popular are very good and sometimes out perform those popular ones.

From my experience, I would highly recommend to submit your MAIN SITE to Search Engnies for at least first SIX months.

there is no rule in submitting articles to different directories. you can submit your articles in all directories that you want but be sure these directories really works so that you can have all the traffic you want

You can submit as many directories as you want but remember those directories must pay you back. Thanks for great tip dear.

 

You should submit minimum 1000 directories to get the result.

 

The more the better but be picky as to which one you submit to. And don't submit to 1,000 a day, do it slowly!

I don't agree with HCs, in my experience big G brings more traffic then all other search engines together.
In addition, resubmit a site already indexed with the same search engine is a waste of time: signing up for Google Webmaster Tools and Yahoo! Site Explorer you can check in near real time if your site is indexed or not.

Instead, about the directories, from the viewpoint of SEO, it would be preferable that the links appears slow but steady: if you get 1.000 links in a day then nothing for months, it is likely that those links are a waste of time.
My advice is to submit your site to 100/300 directories per month...

There is no kind of rule in submitting your website in web directories. Its always good having more and more backlinks from different sources.

 

Submit as much as possible, but the directory that you submit must be high quality directories

I think you should concentrate on quality web directories submission. In my opinion do not submit too many directories in one day.It may penalize you. Link diversity is what should look at for not spamming.

There are both free and paid directory submissions having said that u can't rest assured that by submitting to a paid directory u can expect much traffic viceversa submitting to number of free directories also doesn't ensure traffic


But submitting to few authority dirs related to u r submission would fetch the desired results

There's no any hard and fast rule. It works like your site/business advertisement. So submit as many as you can. The more you do, more you have chance to get traffic and leads.
