I suggest http for common use of contents or website. If you have membership site or high risk platform that can attract more spammer or hackers, then use https for more secured environment.
HTTP is for the general websites. And as atniz described the value of HTTPS, it's same like that for securing your content. HTTPS is commonly used in the Money Processing websites, the online products websites, etc. ..
I've believed that https pages do not rank well, because i'm not doing good for most of the keywords.
It does not make difference to Search Engines whether your site has http or https. The main difference between the two is about security.
http and https pages can be indexed eitherway. The only catch is that since https if a different protocol and uses a different port number, your robots.txt, sitemap.xml, and other verifications must be placed in the secure https portion of your site and another robots.txt, sitemap.xml, and verifictation has to be put on the regular https side. For example, I have two addresses: http://www.atomicpages.net/ https://client.atomicpages.net/ I want http://www.atomicpages.net/ to be indexed so I have in place a robots.txt, sitemap.xml, ror.xml, and all of my verifications. I also want https://client.atomicpages.net/ index, however, I have a separate robots.txt, sitemap.xml, and verifications for the https portion.
Hi i think there is no difference between HTTP and HTTPS for from search engine point of view i saw many sites with HTTPS raking NO 1 in Google.
