Come up with something no one has done before. Don't just think your going to make MFA sites and get rich with adsense. Big money adsense people didn't make their sites for adsense, they had an original idea, implemented it, than used adsense because they saw the huge revenue potential.

I spend atleast 20 hours a week researching ideas.

Just remember, you can't just hit the ground running. you have to crawl before you can walk. most people become discouraged because they think they can come up with an idea, implement it, and make 29042092 dollars their first month. find something original, hopefully that you have some interest in, then implement it, spend a good hard month or 2 on it, then make room for the developement of new ideas. diversify.

I don't suppose I'm really playing around in any markets at the moment. That's probably the problem! :p

pick a niche you're interested in, or even better, passionate about. flesh out the site. learn the basics of search engine optimization. add content everyday for a year.

if, after that, you still feel that "it's not happening," feel free to give up. I doubt that'll be the case, though. a lot of people make a lot of money online. not many people devote the kind of time neccessary to make things work.

Hey, buying all those lottery tickets is hard work! Then checking to see if one got something, collecting, buying more tickets...

Uff! I need a rest now.

Just like real life, hard work is the key to success on the Internet. You have to put in as much effort (at least mentally) into an Internet business as you would have to a brick-and-mortar business.

Im Kinda new to, Just dont give up, You put the effort in and you will get the money out of it. I forget, i was reading a blog, their motto was "Hard work pays off in the Future, Lazyness Pays off now." i dont think it comes any more clean cut.

That's a good motto to live by I think.

    Ok, stoopid noob question...

When people talking about finding a niche, what exactly do they mean by that?

You could lower your expectations and decide that you want to be poor! Find something that you enjoy doing.

a niche is a target topic, something like tech news, or computers, or SEo, that will determine your target audience

Just jump in and give it a try. You've obviously got some ideas, so instead of overthinking them, just dive in and start trying some things out ;)

Pickles- I hear ya...most here on DP are searching..no strike that..STRAINING to find ideas, examples etc, cause there ARE people who are on this board who ARE rich..and making a boatload of money..but they are the minority...and I have seen step by step details on how to succeed in several ways.

It really doesnt take hard work, it just takes DEDICATION and TIME.
Unique ideas will get you there FASTER, and more than likely get you MORE income..but you can also copy....heck, many here on DP copy daily and make good money doing it..

    bottom line..just dont give UP.
