If I leave 5 comments on high PR blog of my niche, does google count that as 5 back links to my site from a good quality site? Or does google count them as 1 since they're all from the same site?

Not only high PR ranking site but you need to make comments on dofollow blogs as nofollow blogs will not link you back, also you need to make at least 10 comment in a blog to get a sure link back to your site, I have heard this from one of the popular tech blog owner.

 

To get the backlink the owner of the site must moderate and approve your comment. That is why the comment has to be meaningful and relevant to their site. If your comment is not accepted you will not get a backlink. They do not have to replt to you - just approve your comment.

 

Google will count only one backlink from one web page no matter how many links of your site are present there. since you are asking about web site, If the web pages of the website have PR and if they are indexed, google may count more than one backlink from one web site.

If those 5 blogs are from 5 different indexed blog posts, they would be calculated as 5 backlinks to your sites.

Normally blog's link has nofollow feature. But there are many blogs who provide you "do follow" link. Google does not consider blog link (no follow) important, but as for yahoo, they will count all backlinks coming from blogs.

 

no it's not necessary that all the backlinks google count as quality backlinks so try to generate quality backlinks.

First off all its depend on blog owner that he is approving your comments or giving its do follow or no follow category. And if your 5 comment in a blog then i think google count it only single back link.

See its a cycle and don't predict that it will happens once as forever.As you commented on these High PR blogs then if you can then do forum posting ,general link posting and directory submission -directories which are working.After that you can expect that you will get some rank.

it depends. some times it counts 1 comments and some times it considers 2 or 3 or 4 or 5 comments

 

If the comment is dofollow, then you will get the credit of back link from Google for page rank and SERP ranking.

If it is nofollow, then you will only enjoy direct referral traffic from your comments, there are no SEO benefits there.

 

use seo addon of FF to know dofollow or nofollow link, but good cmt will make unique visitor for u
