There is any risk for me if i open a Warez Download site , with links of movies, musics, games and applications via HOTFILE, RAPIDSHARE , MEGAUPLOAD and etc.

    Thanks.

I find your post an interesting one can you share with us why the owner is to be jailed soon? I mean PTB is running for almost a decade.

and this statement should answer questions like "is it legal if the warez are not on my own site, but I only link to them."

"No copyright content is hosted on The Pirate Bay's web servers, instead the site hosts "torrent" links to TV, film and music files held on its users' computers"

So the answer is Yes, you can be held liable, even if your site just links to such sites, as your site would be contributing to illegal activity...(linking too)

and from what I am reading, sure the site was making $100-150k/year (USfunds) from advertisements, but the cost to maintain a site
with millions of visitors would have also been staggering, and by the time you calulate their legal fees, total loss, total bust....

If what they were doing was legal, and they were getting that traffic, then they would have been ok...the site would have just
made enough to equal one persons small yearly salary, if that...you have to remember, no matter how much you make,
you will always have costs, investments, servers, etc....they were by no means getting rich quick....

I am surprised the govt does not move in to shut down all file sharing sites...

There is only one true purpose for file sharing sites....

    warez...

    nothing more....

Do you really think people go to these sites to swap puppy pics?

    please....
