Help my wordpress is stuck

Discussion in 'WordPress' started by mpak11, Oct 20, 2010.

When I log in to my wordpress admin panel, I was able to edit a page...however, when I try to go to the post, it keeps popping the message box

"Are you sure you want to navigate away from this page" etc etc...

And then I can not navigate anywhere, it can not even close the page even if I click the "x" button on my firefox browser...its the only web page not closing, the others are okay ...so this wordpress site of mine is the problem...

Help, what could be wrong? Now, I can not do anything with it, it seems to be stuck...

Try clearing you browser cache first and check if javascript is enabled.

it could be javascript not loading properly which is why popups are coming.
    Try reinstalling wordpress and theme.

This warning popup should only appeared and popped up - IF, you're trying to leave the post editor while you're in the middle of post editing - AND not being saved yet.
Try to hit the Update button first before leaving to other page.

If that's not solving your problem, javascript conflict is what it is. Try to deactivate all of your plugins.
Some plugins sometimes added unnecessary javascript calls to all admin pages, while this javascript calls needed only in some certain pages (eg: this plugin' setting page).
    Deactivate all plugins.
Reactivating it one and then the next, after you're testing your post edit page will give you exact hint, which one cause the troubles.

Not necessarily bad installation. try the above first before reinstalling it. It's always worth a shot.
