    I lost my ATM card, could someone use it without the pin number?
    This ATM card connected to my south indian bank savings bank account and masetro card.

    I realised the lost just after 4 hours.However i called customercare and blocked the card.

    could someone use it without the pin number?
    Is it possible?

    If you blocked the card then nobody can use it. If you didn't, then as long as it has a Visa/Mastercard etc. logo on it and it can be ran as "credit" then it's possible.

    It is possible, the best thing is to notify your back to block the ATM card from accessing your account. You dont have to take chance about ATM card.

    No one can use it without PIN number and btw you have already done your part (blocked that card). So no need to worry at all.

    i got this info from CC

    We get two kind of debit cards here: VISA Electron and Maestro. Both can be used for online shopping, provided your bank supports it. A main difference is that VISA card doesnot require any PIN while swiping card at restaurants/shops etc, but Maestro does. Both cards require PINS and certain other validations while Online shopping.
    Maestro (SBI and Citibank etc issue Maestro cards) is beneficial in the way that once it is stolen, it cannot be misused unless the thief knows your PIN.
    VISA card (ICICI, HSBC etc issue VISA cards), if stolen can be used for shopping by card swipe, so its immediate blockage is must.
    Both cards if stolen, cannot be used for Online transaction unless the thief knows your transaction password/IPIN etc.

    once you call the bank center to block or cancel the card, the card can not withdraw any money

    An atm card works only when the card number and the pin number mathces, so no one can use it with out the pin number. But it is better to block the atm card

    Cancel the card, they will give you a new one with a new number. Be sure to put the new # in any applicable websites, autopays, etc. if you use them

    If its blocked then don't worry. Get a new one and be very cautious next time. Sometimes the stealer can be closer to you than you think.

    Block your card call the bank. If the card is visa it can be used as a credit card..
