$100 Technorati Favorites Challenge

Is that all you going to write? Nothing else? You think this is good info for other members or just a way to get people to visit your link?

 

Here's the article itself:

After reading SEOmoz’s article on "Technorati Top 100 - Too Easy to Game?" I’ve decided to run a little experiment of my own.

On October 16th at 2pm PST, I will randomly choose one Technorati member who added this blog as a favorite, and send him or her this check for $100, no strings attached.

How far will one hundred dollars go?

 

Maybe next time please write that in the post. More then just a link to your self

As a comment in your blog the offer is tempting. As well as your first approch was really good to visit your site atleast once to know what is happening. I liked your site. How many person already made you favorite in technorati ? What is status of the contest ? Nice way to play the favorite game. I liked it.

So far 15 people have added it to their favorites. I set the ending date to Oct. 16th to give everyone a chance to partcipate!

Thanks Coolsaint! Appreciate the add. Most people have e-mailed me back saying they like the site as well, but the $100 gives them incentive to actually do something. The chance to wins something always seems to do wonders.

 

Challenge ends in about 3 days. I think it was a worthwhile experiment even though I wasn't able to break into the Top 100. I up'd my favorites from 6 to 30. Not bad in just two weeks. We'll see what this weekend brings.

any updates? are you picking up any more traffic?

 

I'm going to put all the names of every person that's favorited the site in a hat, and pick out one that will be the winner of the $100 check.

No extra traffic thus far, except for the few that have added a post to their blogs about the contest. The only way to really get traffic from being a technorati favorite is breaking into their Top 100 list.

I think it is a good idea to get favorites. I bet you're probably thinking the same thing I am, that Technorati Favorites will play a roll in your ranking on Technorati..

 

I have been looking for ways to promote my blog uniquely, I may try to think of a spin to put on this.
