What to fill my sidebar with?

I have my sidebar, but it only fills up half the page, http://jgblogging.com/blog, see what I mean, i just wondered if anyone had any suggestion what to put there, I thought about putting a 250x250 banner there to sell, any other ideas.

You can put Google Adsense to your sidebar.

 

You don't need to fill it. What's the point in that? If you don't have a valid reason to populate the Sidebar with content beneficial to your users then don't.

If you want to make it look better you can use a number of widgets to populate with things like Tag Clouds, Videos, Advertisments, etc.

Adsense in the Sidebar will usually result in very low clickthroughs.

Recent Posts
Tags
Archive
Search Box
Categories

 

I would also fill them with:

popular post, random posts, these will make the interlinking in your blog better. Good luck

What good does the calendar do?

 

You can use the sidebar as suggested above or add lead capture offers with a freebie give-away in exchange for a name. Google loves the "tag" widget as it let's Google know what your site is about.

 

Calenders highlights the posting date............and a many other things too but depends on what functionality you apply........
