Local SEO and Search Results

Hello,

Have this question for many days, and finally decide to go on forum and ask, seems, that some businesses on West Coast are appears when you searching for keywords at East coast

does anyone knows why? west coast business will be on front page in East coast location?

Maybe because those business cater nation wide. they may be located on the west coast, but they probably offer their services or products all over the U.S.

 

so, how to you make search engine understand, that you do business all over the country?

 

This is pretty interesting to research for, As I have found many times that if you search for Marietta then it also shows result of Atlanta because they both are nearest cities, but this has total opposite situation to handle with. I should come up with a good answer by Tomorrow. I'll discuss this with my friends.

Where are they appearing? Organic or paid results, or within map results on a SERP?

 

pixelrage, when you search on google , simple natural search, and my competitors from west coast coming up.

 

Seems, that few people reply with some answers, but still there is no def. answer to my Question, Anyone else has anything on this topic?

well, seems, that no one knows: my site is good seo position for local search, my competition are next to me coming up in search, if i am changing location by different zip code, my competition are still there for the same keywords/terms but my site is not. Why? and how to make site better searchable in different areas?
