Well I do articles pretty damn well. Learnt a while ago how to make them go viral in a few days and get loads of traffic from and it still works better than ever. Mass publishing is the real secret ! Good discussion.
The traffic goes to a squeeze page, and I get a lot of leads from it. I don't know exactly how many are coming from that traffic source, but as I'm giving aaway an ebook on traffic generation I'm sure it's quite a few. I always send my traffic to lead capture pages so I can market to the leads in the future. IMHO, sending traffic directly to a sales page for a possible one time sale is a huge waste of traffic, but to each his (or her) own.
i didnt say anything about sending direct to a sales page...i simply asked how your "traffic" is converting usually traffic from exchanges is spurious and worthless. It is people who are simply trying to get credits...a bunch of salesmen pitching each other, never interested in buying, but very interested in promoting themselves safelists, exchanges etc, usually do not convert well into sales. Traffic is meaningless if it doesnt make you money.
I like this answer to the thread question. I dont think you will find any bona fide new ways to generate converting traffic, but there are refinements that can be shared to "existing" methods that may be "new" to others.
Hit the nail on the head. Basically all you need is patience and the ability to learn. I'm sure later on down the road times will change as they always do and new ways will come up but as for now, you can find everything on these boards.
Well, I make quite a bit of money from my list and have very few unsubscribes. Also, as I explained in the video, it is a traffic exchange but the traffic is not coming from the 20 second views. It's coming from people who read the articles and then click-through to my site because they liked the article. In that respect, it's very much like traffic from an article directory. I think it's just as good as any traffic coming from any directory. The people who visit my site from those articles don't get any credits for clicking. They are visiting because they want to, and that traffic generally converts well. As for how many people from that site sign up to my list, I couldn't tell you. I don't keep those stats. Also, the attitiude that traffic exchange traffic is worthless is completely wrong and misguided. You just have to know what kinds of pages to put on an exchange and then how to market to those people later on. You need to use traffic exchanges to build your list and capture leads, not try to get direct sales. I've gotten tons of leads from traffic exchanges that I then converted into sales. In fact, I have one list of almost 1300 people that I got all from traffic exchanges. Then, I market only traffic related products to them. I can easily make $100-$200 from one broadcast to that list alone. So, traffic exchange traffic is FAR from useless.
I found a site called "Project Wonderful". You can buy banner ads on sites you choose by bidding. I have a weight loss banner on one site that cost 20 cent per 1000 views. CTR is not that good but the cost is low which make the risk Wonderful.
i have been marketing since BEFORE the web was invented my SMALL list is 30,000 organic subscribers so i might know just a little bit in the end, since they were invented the only people that make REAL money from traffic exchanges/auto surf are the people who own them ironic you don't "track" where people come from your list and convert...so in reality, you do NOT KNOW if the people who BUY are coming from the exchange or not... which makes your other statements...baseless at best...poor guesses at worse...definitely not something for someone to follow
Evidently you didn't read the post or misunderstood. I have a list that was built completely from traffic exchange leads. I know this because the only traffic ever sent to the squeeze page came from traffic exchanges. I built the page specifically to market traffic products to traffic exchange users. I started building the list about 5 months ago and have almost 1300 subscribers, and I'm sure that 99% have come from TE's. Your statement that the only people who make money from traffic exchanges is people who own them is the real baseless statement here. I'm not going to argue with you anymore about it. I started this thread to share traffic secrets that are outside the box. You have not done that. All you have succeeded to do is bash the method that I presented, which by the way, works and works very well. Furthermore, as I have already said, these people are coming from the article directory section of the traffic exchange, not the surf section. They have read an article and still decided to click through even though they know there is nothing in it for them. I don't care how long you have been in marketing. That doesn't mean anything here. Don't presume to know everything. You obviously don't. Ya know, I get a kick out of people who bash a method without even trying it and then claim to know everything. I have to question the level of their succcess if they are so set in their ways that they are completely unwilling to try something new. Easy Hits 4 U has over 300,000 members, and a lot of them are reading those articles (obviously). Now, I would appreciate you sharing something that you do to get traffic. Since you claim to have been in marketing for such a long time and seem to know everything there is to know, you should be able to provide us with a few nice methods to get traffic.

never said i didnt try it..but if all you make is 100-200 from a list of 1300 that took 5 months to build up from multiple sources that just continues to prove my point it is garbage traffic
Again, you aren't reading the post. For the third time, all of the leads came from traffic exchanges, not "multiple sources". I also market a lot of Master Resell Rights products that I charge $9 and $10 for. So, if I make $200 from a broadcast to 1300 people, that's on the average 20 sales. That means that my list is converting at 1.5%, which is actually higher than the accepted average of 1%. Also, this is just one of my lists. I have 5, and 3 of them are bigger. I'm not sure what it is that you are trying to do or prove but I don't see what's wrong with making $150-$200 from one broadcast, espcially if I do that 3 times a week from just one list. Like I said, I'm not going to argue with you. You still haven't really shared anything, you just continue to trash what I've taken the time to share. I'm not sure why, really. Maybe you don't like to see others succeed? That's a common problem amongst internet marketers. Many of them have overinflated egos and think they are better than they really are. Beside article writing and bookmarking sites.. I think social media like twitter, facebook, forum, blog are great for traffic.

Video marketing isn't new, but since it hasn't been mentioned yet, I'll mention it here. Most people think that getting ranked in the search engines is the most sustainable way of getting traffic. And I agree. But since it's not easy to rank high in search engines. People have shifted to video marketing. You create a video promoting your service or product and upload it on Youtube, then submit it to other video sites. A tool you could use is tubemogul. If you get your video ranking on Youtube, there's a big chance that you will appear on the first page of Google as well. I always find that search engine traffic is the most targeted kind of traffic and leads to most conversions. Some people have also utilized press releases to get their sites on page 1 of Google. Again, this is nothing new but just thought I would share it.
