Just saw a website on a popular search phrase, and the guy is near the top with crazy daily uniques, but he is surrounded by others that offer his product for free in the serps, he is resorting to .99 cents for the product. Honestly, traffic volume is not the answer. Getting to the top of google for a term is not all its cracked up to be. What is a best scenario strategy other than blindly fighting for inappropriate traffic? (backlinks etc)
serp domination, try to push out the comps. get a squidoo lens, hub page, etc.. to rank over the competitors. other than that you could do more traditional marketing methods to position your brand in the consumer/searchers mind
Build an e-mail list! You can market to your list as much as you want and you don't have to worry about competition once you get them on your list.
A squeeze page for all that traffic, obviously they would gain a big list fast with a bonus gift offer thats targeted, ...nice.
If you're looking for ROI, then there's no point bleeding yourself dry to get to the top of the SERPS if you're not building a subscriber list and constantly testing squeeze pages. Test headlines, bullets, form box text etc, and the extra conversions will drop straight to your bottom line. An OTO behind your opt-in can also offset your 'cost to acquire'. Alun from England
i dont know what you're selling, but savvy internet users abhor squeeze pages. I would focus on compelling content that can stay above the fold. I know when I hit a squeeze page the first thing I do is click the back button and avoid that URL like the plague. Try to use research done by those with far more money in their pockets than you. Find a top comp in the area and see how they build their pages, if you have no comps then find someone similar and look at their product pages for examples.
