Hello, I was wondering what's the better tactic is. 1) Own and operate one website, continually develop it everyday or 2) Own and operate multiple websites (less than a dozen of course), and focus on one website development per day so that after working on website #1, it gives the search engines a week to get the new content, index it, keyword, etc. This way, you don't put all the eggs in one basket. What do you think it's better ? And if you operate multiple, how many websites do you own and operate ?
I own one website (just a school project made on wix.com) but I have a friend who owns about 5 websites all promoting the same thing and he makes around £10k a year.
I guess it all depends really someone could have just one site and make a very nice amount of revenue and some else could have many sites with the same revenue,my choice is the latter one as i run over 20 sites in various niches as you have mentioned all of my eggs are not in the same basket.
Well I am running 6 pages but right now I am only focusing on three and if I have time left I am spending it for the other two as one site is just inactiv to keept the domain and give it some age. Also don't have the time to finish what I was planning for the site
1 website at the moment. However once I feel I have got the hang of things I will no doubt create others and try and replicate the success. That's what its all about I guess?
I run about 5. Spend a good amount of time on 2 of them the others kind of just hang out and make a small amount of money. So far, I am not rich, but I am figuring things out!
it really depends on you, i own 32 domains at the moment and 23 have websites on them. it really does depend on what niche your targetting, my view is its better to have 20 sites making $20-30 a day per site than have just one making $100 a day
Hi movieguy, I use this simpel strategy. I make 400 dollars to buy a website on Flippa. I only buy in old tried niches (evergreens) I add two articles (pages) + one backlink package. I do 50 blogcomments on other blogs, with my main keyword related in anchor text. I set it op for sale on flippa, for a pricepoint - which is at least (+ 25 %) from the buying price. Then I make from 100-200 dollars on each sale, depending on how lucky I was, when I bought the website. I do the same action, once again, and one more time - and now, I properly have 400 dollars in "free money". At this pont, you could either A) Follow same strategy B) Buy a new website, and keep it for profit, which will make you 2-3 Dollars a day. C) Invest in a website for 800 D-1000 D and optimize it, and resell it for 12-1400 D. Regards, LASSE
I own and operate about 5 right now. Wanting to expand though, it is just hard to do all of them well.
Time is like butter the further you spread it the thinner it gets. I believe ( partly from my own experiences) one of the reasons people want to make multiple websites and get into multiple niches is because they fear one site failing and believe there is security in having multiple sites but I don't agree any more. I believe the best way to do it is to find one niche that you are interested in then go all out on it with only one website for at least a few years. Some people say multiple sites with smaller income is better than one site with a large income but what none (in my experience) have ever considered is the way in which hard work on one website will cause it to grow exponentially greater than a handful of smaller websites over the same period of time. The market you choose your one website to be based on just has to be big enough for lots of relevant content or have enough scope for you to improve your creation for years to come.
I have a bunch of useless parked domains... I have one PR2 domain that brings in random traffic...no converts... my latest recent domains are: http://seoarticlenetwork.com http://seoscripts.com http://gotarticles.com I really like the last two, I think they are kinda nifty.. 1st domain: Started a new article directory 2nd domain: started a forum 3rd domain: will start another article directory once I get the bugs worked out on the first article directory as the script is just about crap...I never get lucky when I buy scripts...totally not worth the $150 Money is generally not my problem, turning my money into more money normally turns to crap and I end up spending more money trying to make money....
