I'm looking for a website monitoring service that will monitor multiple websites in one account and notify me and my client by email should any site be unavailable. Ideally the service will notify us of the full details of any outages and will provide a monthly summary report. I am happy to pay for a good service (multiple (10+) url's a must-have). Suggestions welcome please.
I've been pretty happy with http://www.siteuptime.com/ actually, I use it for my major sites -- the free version -- and it works great.
Hi fsmedia Thanks for the recommendation. Their free service only offers 1 url and their paid service offers a maximum of 6. I will contact them to see what can be done !
Hi Patient, I recommend AlertSite.com - support is awesome, and great discounts for 10+ URLs. Geographically dispersed monitoring locations and flexible notifications. Jason 404-993-5196

I recommend to check our service IS2Monitor.com, it can monitor multiple pages (up to 30) in one account and send Email/SMS alerts.
I recommend http://100pulse.com It monitor your website with 5 min interval and instant notification through email, sms, twitter, rss feed, through google gadget and more features. I think it will fit for your requirement.
Yup It's Up is a website monitoring device that can be used to check websites. Yup It's Up will notify you, via SMS text and/or e-mail, of any problems that may arise. Yup It's Up works great for all websites, large and small. Our service can be particularly helpful for websites that have blogs, shopping carts or other interactive applications. Not only can you make sure that your website is up and running, but specific parts of your website can also be monitored. For example, if your shopping cart software, for some reason, is not able to connect to its database, Yup It's Up can detect that there is a problem and notify you. This issue could otherwise take hours until you or your staff are notified by website visitors or happen to notice yourself. Yup It's Up can be a great tool to make sure critical website applications are up and running. For more information, please visit http://yupitsup.com/monitoring/websites
There are lot's of companies who are providing the same services. Let's see how much you are good or not.
I use the free versions of two services...mon.itor.us for their overall monitoring, uptime metrics and weekly reports and uptime robot to alert me by email if one of my sites goes down. I find them both sufficient to my needs. I think if you are willing to pay you can get more regular monitoring (uptime robot free only pings every 30mins), better reporting and pings from other geographical areas.
Nope...Mon.itor.us is very easy to use. You just create an account enter the domain you want to track, enter your contact details for your weekly report and that's it! Uptime Robot is pretty much the same process...create account, then add urls to track.
This is a great thread - exactly what we were looking for. We ended up with BestSiteMonitoring.com. The coolest thing is the SLA report - now we get money back when our vendors don't meet the 99.9% guarantees
I think FreeWebMonitoring.com is the best website for monitoring They will inform you via mail when ever your websites unavailable.
With Pingdom you can monitor 30 sites for $40/month, also includes unlimited email alerts and monthly report emails like you want. I've been using the free trial of Pingdom for sms alerts and have been happy with it. Some other options not mentioned yet: site24x7.com host-tracker.com serviceuptime.com alertra.com
