Has Instant Search Hurt You or Helped You? Have you noticed any difference in your search engine rankings since this change has gone into effect?

Mine have remained pretty constant, but I was curious if anyone else had noticed a change for the better or for the worse.

 

I think there is not direct connection in SEO it is for searches where searchers find enhancement in search techniques!

 

it will benefit the top 3 ranked sites much more than b4

 

i'm getting more traffic now from google

 

helped me ..i have moved second place from third and one of my hard competitor goes down to 4 but igoogle generated new hard competitors...

 

The newly introduced Google Instant Search has nothing to do with your site's SERP.
However it might hurt your long tail traffic because the users just stop writing as soon as they see some results.
As a Google user I find it rather annoying and I really hope they will disable this feature in the near future.

 

It really depends on the searcher. You have to target your keywords relative to what a searcher might type on Google's search box.

 

I don't see any difference in traffic, but I think that in general, it will help those who are numbers 1-3 for one or two word phrases. By the time someone types the second word most people have lost focus, see some results and click...

 

i completely turned off Google Instant and i feel there is an advantage with Long Tail Keywords when looking into SEO but it has not effected any SEO part.

I think the new "Instant Search" feature might affect the Google Adwords more than SEO. Personally, I have not noticed negative impacts on the traffics to my sites.

I have a couple of garden sites that have lost quite a lot of traffic. People searching for vegetable gardens for beginners now get vegetable gardening for beginners Google assumes that's what they are looking for.

 

No changes for me yet.

 

One of my websites has been losing traffic these a few days, since the keywords rankings drop like crazy.

 

Glad to see most people who replied have not lost traffic. I agree about long tail keywords as the results will appear before you're done typing all of the long tail keywords, lol.

 

I actually havn't noticed any change... However, personally I don't like Instant and I refuse to use it.

It especially annoys those with relatively narrow bandwidth.

 

Not sure whether it is down to instant but my traffic has gone up 40% on most of my sites

 

i personally find instant very annoying and switched it off.
traffic to our sites remains stable, so thats good.

 

It is helping me. I am getting more traffic from google.

 

It's not a problem. Just some help by google.
