the thing i need help is:

    1. create a shape (let's say black circle shape)
    2. then type a white text on top of the shape (let's say a white "sample")
    3. make the text "sample" transparent thru the shape and see the background.

    really appreciate about this.

change the opacity of your background lets say 20 then create layer of your preferred text, actually you can achieve this by typing text above your background... its the same result.

Creating a transparency effect in photoshop is a piece of cake. Don't forget to work with layers, your objects must be in separate layers and start working on the Opacity of its object it is 100% default you can decrease the level of opacity, you can also work with the blending modes to add a more unique effects. The key is "Explore". Thank you.

    - Hold ctrl and click the text layer
    - Click on your shape layer (while the ants are crawling around the text)
    - Click on the mask button (the 4th button to the left of the bin icon in the layers panel)

    simply put, make 3 layers:
    1. text
    2. shape
    3. background

after that, set opacity 20% for the text layer & 20% for the shape. then adjust opacity as u prefered.

Create the shape. Apply your Text using the Text Tool. Merge the Shape and the Text Layer together. Select the "Magic Wand" tool and select the text, make sure you have selected all of the text. Once selected delete the selected areas. If you make your shaped and text bigger in the first place this will be alot sharper when you reduce the overall size of the image. If you get too stuck, reply and I will do the first steps for you. That is the 'simplest way' for me to explain as Photoshop itself is a remarkable tool, which has tonnes of ways to do the same job. Let me know how you get along.

    Thanks.
