Blogger - is itworth it?

Is it still viable to create a site using Blogger to generate Adsense income? (or do you really need to host your own site to make decent money?)

 

You can make money with blogger and you can make better money then hosting the site by yourself. It is better because blogger ranks your page for you, which means more unique natural visitors which can get you more adsense cash.

 

You are right, there are many advantages and disadvantages in each way you will choose!

From my recent experience revealed that seperate blogs on individual domains work lot better than blogspot! you can make more money from them in comparison to Blogger

 

My opinoin is that it is better to use you own domain and hosting.BLOGGER can close you blog at any time when they want for no reason.They won't even state you the real reason for closing down.So I advice you to stay away from Blogger and go for your own domain and hosting.Plus that you don't own your blogger blog.THEY OWN IT.GOOGLE own it.So is it to good to create something that you won't own in teh future.

 

The good thing about Blogger is that there's no need for hosting for your blog. They do it for you. All you need to do is buy a domain which costs only around 10 bucks.

 

I've been using blogger for a while and I can say that there are advantages and disadvantages as in anything else.
If you are using Blogger you don't have to pay for hosting but in the other hand your blog url might be harder to memorize than a short domain name.
Another thing is ranking, Blogger does a lot of work for you while if you have your own domain you have to do all the work. For example, I've never made any marketing of one of my blogs and it keeps getting visitors even though I rarely update it.

So, everything has advantages and disadvantages depending on the purpose for which you are creating the blog.

ur own domain ur own hosting is more professional than free blogger,u can do everything u want to do,and google give .com more trafiic as compare to blogger.

 

I'm using blogger, had a .blogspot for a few months then got Paypal and bought a domain for 8$ at 1&1. Couldn't be happier. They have a cool template designer (was put in around June) and that's all.

Even with no domain you could get lots of people (for example, google "strobist"). Oh, and I earn enough, always trying to get more but it's 150€+ monthly. I didnt have to do so much stuff because blogger did it for me.

I like how easy blogger is to set up but I think if you want a free blog, wordpress is really the way to go. There are myriads of applications to choose from and like blogger, it is totally free. I think owning your own domain is better than both of these but if you are just starting out, wordpress is definitely the way to go.

 

I think your own domain+ hosting will be better for you, If you can afford it.
