    Don't worry about Page Rank too much. What matters is the site content and it's quality . I will advice you to get some links from Good , relevant and authority websites having High PR in your niche . Do old methods like Directory Submission, Social Bookmarking little bit. Those will help your site in long run.

    I'm new, but everything I have studied over the last couple of weeks points to backlinks and rich, relevant content. I didn't realize until yesterday how important the incoming link's page rank was...its exponential (meaning you get 10x more value from a backlink on a PR5 page than a PR4, as an example). You can also find sites in your industry that have higher page rank and find out their keyword mix and try to mimic.
