Godaddy domain backorder , regretfully worthless

I want to share with you how I wasted 18.99$ on absolutely nothing .
About a year ago I regretfully missed my renewal on b166er.com . This domain is of personal value to me , so I kept a close eye on it since then . Recently I've noticed it went into PendingDelete status .
I am not much of a domain expert , so I decided to try one of those services godaddy is constantly offering . Having no idea what actually backordering means , and pretty much sure that Godaddy know what they're doing , I payed 18.99$ to secure the domain .
The order was placed 28/09 . Since then I got some automated messages regarding domain and order status , nothing too important ...
Today , 02/10 I was notified that all hope is gone , domain backorder failed and the domain is currently registered to another entity . It actually changed hands !
So basically , nothing was done . I just payed 18.99$ and was notified that nothing can be done , and that's it . Hope I get a refund ...:(

I agree Godaddy's backorder is worthless. You will not get a refund just another chance to backorder another domain.

Next time you want to backorder a url use the top three drop services...Snapnames, Pool and Club Drop(Enom). Normally dropping domains go through these drop services first and if no one tried to backorder thru them then the godaddy's service gets a shot. It will cost you a minimum of $60 but if more than one person backordered the domain it goes to auction. I think it is a small price to pay if you have a personal interest in the URL.

Yup, don't even bother with that rubbish, It doesn't work at all. Use snapnames, they're excellent at grabbing domains. :)
