bounce rate means that your website is getting traffic that is not interested in what you're offering. For instance, a customer who's looking to buy some roses for his girlfriend and finds that you're offering artificial roses, not real ones, would bounce from your website. So, I believe you may be targeting the wrong keywords. For example, you're targeting "red roses" instead of "artificial roses".

Content, content, content..... If you make the content relevant, readable and interesting then people who find your site are going to stay there for longer to find out about you/your products/services.
Also make sure that people are finding your site for the right reasons eg if you are selling computers but rank for the keyword "fluffy bunny" then people aren't going to stay on your site.

Related Contents are the thing you need in order to decrease the bounce rate of your web site. Bounce rate really hurts yours page ranking and popularity. So try to get unique, topic related contents.

You can reduce bounce rate of your website just through good content on your website. So first of all change the content of your site and make it awesome. Then by Social Bookmarking you can increase the visit rate of your website and business too.

    Cheers........

You should also check if your site navigation is user friendly. Some visitors may end up leaving your site if they can't find what they need in your site.

Bounce rate is the percentage of single-page visits or visits in which the person left your site from the entrance (landing) page. Use this metric to measure visit quality – a high bounce rate generally indicates that site entrance pages aren’t relevant to your visitors. So reduce the bounce rate of your site by writing unique content, relevant keywords, relevant and quality traffic traffic coming to your site, reduce site speed etc. These factors helps to reduce the bounce rate of your site.

    Hello rajgvt,

Here is a partial list of why people bounce from sites...

    -Not relevant.
    -Sloppy site.
    -Untrustworthy in appearance or content.
    -Lack of authority on topic.
    -Too many ads.
-Too hard to find the right button to get what I want quickly.
    -Not simple and easy.
-Not giving what was claimed on original link / referral.
-Just browsing so bookmark (use Firefox 'readit later'
-Not enough photos / graphs (too much text ratio)
-Too hard to read (example white letters on dark background)
    -Pop up windows.
-Obvious intention of fast transaction. (count down clocks, last 3 available)
-Same old news from last week.
-Fluff. ("All sizzle but no steak.")
    -Automated site

Here is a great blog post about 10 things you can do to lower your bounce rate http://bit.ly/9WM0YT

    Kindly,

    Shelby
