Anyone mind checking a one page site for display issues?

I just started working on a new layout for my portfolio site. Right now it's only one page, none of the links work. This is pretty much still at rough draft stage I guess. I was just wondering if anyone would mind checking it out in a few different browsers and letting me know which ones, and what issues they saw if any. Unfortunately all I can offer is my thanks for testing out my site.

looks great! just the drop down menu on "work samples" is a little of centre and looks out of place. Apart from that its fine.

 

Chrome Opera Safari IE FF all look the same

 

Thanks guys...yeah the drop-down is still looking ugly I think. You're right woodenwood, it is off, I need to reposition it, and do something different with it even beyond that I think, just not sure exactly what I want to do with it just yet. I hope this layout will end up being a big improvement over what I currently have, and I'm glad it's looking consistent between browsers so far.

 

The image is very unique and I think it will work great. The logo however should go. Come up with something more subtle yet more appealing. Also, make the font the same for the whole page. It looks unprofessional when one font is Arial, then all of a sudden there's Verdana, etc.

I've actually been thinking of doing something hand drawn (or watercolor) for the logo, but my handwriting is really atrociously bad, so I'm not confident my lettering will be any better. It's worth a try though.

Thanks guys for the feedback. I'm glad I've all ready managed to get it to look consistent on different browsers on different people's computers. Sometimes a site will look just fine in all the browsers and computers I test it on, and I'll find someone is seeing an issue with it on their own computer in a certain browser(s).
I'm still trying to figure out what to do with the logo, and I'm debating having a graphic at the bottom of the page, all though I don't want to slow down the page's loading too much by having a bunch of different graphics all over.

 

Looks great from here. I'm not really into dark sites, but yours has potential.

 

Well, I got it to the point where I think it's good enough to replace my old design, and did so. It looks quite different now. I do like where I was going with the darker version, and might do something similar to it for another site, I have a few sites that really need to be redone too.

I still think it's missing something, and I'm thinking of redoing the gallery, and website pages especially (they are under the work samples menu item). So I still do appreciate feedback and constructive criticism.
I'm thinking of adding a bit more imagery to the layout, but don't want to go so crazy that it really takes forever to load either.

Thanks. I'm really considering doing another cool graphic for the page (the bottom section), but I'm a little worried about loading time.

 

It looks cool but i would reconsider some change in typography...

 

I've added a few more background images, and other things.

So far it isn't taking too long for me to load the pages, and my internet connection isn't great, but let me know if you find it takes a really long time to load.
