Hi there, i need your help and knowledge for one of my blogs: www.marphille.com I have purchased the domain some time ago and established a wordpress blog with mostly unique content on Loans. The domain has PR4 and a lot of quality backlinks. However, I still dont receive any notable traffic from the search engines. I wonder, what the reason might be!! Sandbox? Penalty? other reason? Hi Joe, You're targeting a very high competition niche. Where are you in the search engines? I don't see you in the top 10 pages of google.com for either "refinance loans", "home loans" or "home refinance loans" (the phrases that your homepage appears to be focusing on). You will need a lot more backlinks to compete in this market. Try targeting longtail phrases first.
Thank you for your quick reply. You are right, there is way too much competition for the phrases you mentioned. But I have longtail keywords in the posts as well. I have several other similar blogs and most of them rank at least for 3-5 word text phrases that are contained in the posts. However, this doesnt happen for this blog. Thus, I think there must be another reason. Dont you think?
I set up blogposts for keywords with less competition. However, the traffic does not improve. I have more than 13.000 backlinks and PR4. However, my traffic is less than 150 per month. I have a website with similar backlink structure which gets more than 45.000 unique visitors per month. What is the matter? I have purchased the domain in an auction. The domain didnt have content for a while. May it be the case, that Google is punishing the purchase of this domain or that it is in a kind of sandbox. However, I have purchased about 45 domains and dont experience such difficulties with those domains. Can you please give me some advice? Thanks
