Why doesn't google see my Meta Description?

    I have a site, Play Lush dot com and Google seems to ignore my meta description. Other search engines see it just fine. Anyone know why this might be happening?

    You should tell us which site? Also you should check your meta description again to get good traffic through google.

    Change this code:

    <meta name="description" content="Online Arcade for the Habitual Gamer">

    To this:

    <meta name="description" content="Online Arcade for the Habitual Gamer" />

    Also, there is no guarantee that Google will always show the content from description tag as the snippet in SERPs: Google can choose to show other page content in the Snippet:

    Takes time man, your tags look like theyd work but give google some time to pick up on them and "verify" them.

    Actually, Google see your site meta description, and if that description doesn't show on your site on SERP, it is probably it didn't match on the query on SERP...

    Your site is well indexed in Google and all title and meta description is well then why are complaining Google!

    It is your site detail in Google:

    LUSH Fresh Handmade Soaps and Natural Cosmetics
    LUSH Fresh Handmade Natural Cosmetics Complete range of natural handmade bath and body products including handmade natural soaps, bath bombs, shampoos, ...

    You should wait some a few days to be cashed again by google. Why dont you add Online Arcade for the Habitual Gamer somewhere at the top of your page. This will work 100%

    Here's one possibility: your meta Description is "Online Arcade for the Habitual Gamer". If none of those keywords is in the search request, Google will go elsewhere on the page to look for a description snippet that contains the keyword(s) being searched for.

    Hi,

    I think it is normal since Google would pick up more relevant contents from your page if it thinks they are more relevant to the search query. :)

    all the best,

    Any particular page can be found for many search phrases, so it stands to reason that your one meta description won't be the best fit for all cases. Where it doesn't fit, Google take a better description from the content.

    You have a great design there. I checked on your meta titles, keywords and description.
    And this is my suggestion:

    Title: Play Lush - Free Online Games / Free Online Games - Play Lush
    MK: free online games, play lush, online arcade, online games, play games online, work games
    MD: Play Lush free online games the online arcade for the habitual gamer etc etc..

    Your website's url is playlush and you have chosen the right meta title for your website. But if you
    will follow the rules of Google, the position of the first and second keyword does matter. And another
    thing the meta description should be in a paragraph and less than 200 characters.
    Hope it helps. ^_^
