Multiple content pages on same keyword phrase

I'm planning out a new site and want to take time to do the right keyword research upfront. Our sites tend to have large volumes of content, but I want to make sure the content is as profitable as possible.

    Here's the question:

Let's say I find 100 keywords I want to target, and organize them in the appropriate pyramidal structure.

    So say recipes/pasta/spaghetti-with-meatballs.

For the content pages (here, "Spaghetti with Meatballs"), am I better off with MULTIPLE pages for my most profitable keywords? Say:

    - "New recipes for spaghetti with meatballs"
    - "Spaghetti with meatballs - improved"
    - "Why not spaghetti with meatballs?"

Or is it better to just have one content page per keyword? Maybe distribute other content pages with the same keyword via article marketing?

Do multiple pages with the same keywords tell Google that this is a really, really great site for that keyword? Or does it just dilute link juice?

I think that having multiple pages, as long as they read natural (which by your examples I think you understand), is a good idea. It shows the engines that in fact the content on your website is about that topic, not that you just randomly decided to write about speghetti and meatballs. For example, we do social networking, website design etc, and we do weekly articles and update our content using our search terms so that our website has a variety of entrance paths and resources featuring our desired terms. Plus it does give you a larger variety of content to utilize for social media or article marketing tools.

So yes, I think the "multiple pages with the same keywords tell Google that this is a really, really great site for that keyword," as long as it is natural and not spammy.

Yes, using Wordpress probably - may also use Drupal (which I prefer for some of the membership features).

Wordpress does seem a lot simpler for SEO, though.

depends on the size of your site, you could go either way. if you can manage to add more content, then having multiple pages of same keyword based content would be great. in fact, if you can get the categories organized per set of keywords and keep adding articles on a regular basis for each category, then that would be even better
