Im currently trying to submit my blog to search engines, i have already submitted to bing and yahoo, and submitted a sitemap to Google. But what are the other search engines that I can submit my blog to ?? the freeones that accept manual submissions thanks
Dude, forget submitting manually, just make sure you have a proper robots.txt and some decent content and bots will automatically crawl your website. Make sure you do sign up to Google Webmaster Tools though hehe =D
well i think that its very easy to promote a blog.Rather submitting it to various search engines you better update your blog with unique contents so that search engines will certainly crawl it daily.
I think the best search engine to submit are google , yahoo and Bing.......If your doing blog promotions much better indeed to write unique/quality articles and you can also place an article to Ezine

Submit your blog to blogging sites type: "submit you blog into google" without quotes you may find a website with lists of sites and you will certianly find individual submition pages to submit to.

Submitting your URL and/or sitemap.xml to search engines is a TOTAL waste of time. Spend that time writing good content and building links. The search engines will find you naturally. Getting indexed is worthless if your site doesn't rank, and it's NOT going to rank unless it has some links. Sitemap.xmls are ONLY needed if 1) your site has crawlability issues or 2) you have hundreds of thousands or millions of URLs, neither of which should EVER be the case for a new site.
I think it is enough, you don't need to waste time submitting your site, they will automatically crawl your site. Good luck.
I'd also recommend 'pinging' the blog engines after every post. Use sites like Pingoat or Pingomatic to do this - fraction of the time it would take to do it manually. Digg is also good, as well as Stumbleupon. Fresh, frequently updated, keyword-optimised content is the way forward but I do agree with GeekHang - sort out the robots.txt file. If you can't do that, put it out to tender on Scriptlance .com and someone will do it for pennies. Alun from England
you have already submitted your blog in top 3 search engines and that is enough. Now you need to submit your blog in blog submission directories. they will be more helpful
Create a feed of your blog and submit feed in rss/feed directories and submit your blog in technorati.
