If you cannot access cpanel, write to the technicians of the hosting company that you use.

Yeah, your best bet would be to go to your host's website and explain to them that your cPanel has been hacked and tell them to reset the password for you.

Next time make sure the password you use is secure which includes a combination of letters, upper case letters, numbers and punctuation, that way it will be harder for them to hack your account(s).

Is it just a problem with the c panel? If so contact your host provider.

Can't give better advice till get more details.

If you have problem with your cpanel contact your host immediately and for your wp blog after logging into cpanel take backup of your WP blog db and then reinstall new wp with all new details except the db.

As like many have already said, contact your host. But also ask them for a usage report. IP address/time/location etc. You could then ban access to that particular address for the future!

If you log into your host you will be able to change your cPanel password with-in settings. Doing this will also change your FTP password

Is it ok to have a long, decent pasword to prevent this? Or are there more ways to prevent hacking a wp-site?

All you have to do is Contact your hosting ASAP (just like another people say)
    Another word for you :
    1. Always backup your DB (everyweek or everymonth). Because hacker is can delete your DB
    2. SAVE all your sign up proof (it will very help when you want to claim your account)
    3. ALWAYS change your Psswrd (maybe everymonth)
    4. Becareful if you using a new software (many keylogger)
    5. When you want to sign up or login to one account, it will be good if you DON'T REMEMBER YOUR USER NAME AND PASSWORD. The reasons can you found @ No.4
    6. DON'T USE PC / Notebook or Laptop that you never used before
    7. THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT
Email is your GUN and Your last DEFEND. Because you can claim all you you have to do with this stuff.
    Other words,
Make your email Psswrd very2 difficult to track and keep your Psswrd save.

Wish you can solve your problems mate :)
