Using multiple domains to point to the same site?

    Hi guys / girls,

I've recently managed to procure quite a few very high ranking domains for my next project, I'd like to have every domain pointing to the same site however I'm worried about it either ruining the ranking of the main site or the domains which I point to it.

Anybody have any suggestions on how to effectively manage this?

    Thanks!

    EF

If you're going to point to your new site from your own sites, you need to have all of your domains registered/hosted on different IPs and you need WhoIsGuard or the equivalent on all of them. Even with that, I wouldn't point my sites to another of my sites. Google doesn't like that one bit. The only way I would even consider it would be through a 301 redirect but I'm really doubting you want to do that.

thanks, looks like I'll be working out a different way to do this then :)

What if I just shared the database across sites and changed the templates on all of them?

    I agree with every word.
A 301 redirect is really the only way to do it, in any case, and that is not the best solution.

I'm sorry for the slipshod choice of words. There is no 'best' way to do it... They're all bad.

the best way to host all the sites in different hosting and get unique IP per each site. Make them as blog or site. Develop them with SEO and back linking. Finlay you can make link network to your main site.

If you can't buy different hosting, you can use feeder site. It means host one site in another hosting make link network through that site. BUt different hosting are recommended.
