LSI stands for Latent Semantic Indexing that is an algorithm for finding and utilizing semantically same and synonym keywords of main targeted keyword.
LSI used to create keyword matrices.

LSI stands for Latent Semantic Indexing. The whole concept of LSI is based on the basic principle that words that are used in the same contexts tend to have similar meanings.

LSI means to put content based on synonym words which help search engine to understand and weight the same key phrase.

LSI is a buzzword used by novice SEO companies to bamboozle their clients. Do a site: operator search against, say Bruce Clay's site and look for LSI. It will lead you to a nice article at Huomah.

LSI: Latent Semantic Indexing Where Latent means Existing or present but concealed or inactive and Semantic means relating to meaning

In a single line we say ability to correlate semantically related terms that are latent in a collection of text.

The thing I find funniest about this thread, is not the number of times people have repeated the same answer over and over, but the fact that the guy asking the initial question has SEO in his name, but doesn't even know what LSI stands for!

That's a bit scary, no wonder so many people are unhappy with their SEO companies.

whole, taking related keywords into account when determining what the page is about. Latent Semantic Indexing (LSI) is one specific algorithm that the search engines use to evaluate site content through related keywords.
