A study of more than 36,000 people from around the world concluded that musical tastes and personality type were closely related.

The research, which was carried out by Professor Adrian North of Heriot Watt University, Edinburgh in the UK suggested classical music fans were shy, while heavy metal fans were gentle and at ease with themselves.

Fans of Indie music had low self-esteem and were not hard working, fans of Rap music had high self-esteem and were outgoing. Country & Western fans were hardworking and outgoing, Reggae fans were creative but not hardworking, and fans of chart pop had high self-esteem, were not creative, but where hardworking and outgoing.

So which one are you?

I am an indie music fan. But it doesn't mean that i have low self-esteem. I have high self-esteem.

I love rap music very much and for me its true i have high self esteem. But i don't know in what way this study had made... musical type and personality no way relates.

bdw, acc to the research I would be --> "high self-esteem,not creative, but where hardworking and outgoing."

 

I prefer the classical but I'm not a shy guy.

This study is to the majority. I am the exception. I am in favour of classical music but I am also outgoing 2.

I love pop song, RNB and slow jams... As long as the tune is good, has a good lyrics and great singer!

 

Music will put you in various moods. So the study proves the point, that different music put you in different moods.

 

I am a simple person who used listen all kind of music which provides peace,happyness to hrt.

 

i was into heavy metal music during my highschool days, i was shy and had low self esteem. i had a band which helped me to develop my self esteem by expressing myself on the stage.

I love pop song.

 

I love the blues. Since it was invented to help people work hard and then went through a phase of excess I suppose thats where I am, in flux.

 

I love all type of music, I can change my mood quickly.
