it'll be a normal search result but you'll start seeing search results as soon as you start typing. it will save people an average of 2-5 seconds per search

GotLiveChat you have enter nail in the coffin. Google must provide answer to Adwords advertiser whether the automated change in search result page as user type will be treated as an Impression. If yes, then the CTR will definitely get affected. Hence, Google need to reformulate the CTR calculation algo.

SiteExpress you are right. Earlier Google used to suggest 10 related keywords as you type but now its limited to 5 only. Also, if a user gets what it want by typing one word or two, then sites that rely on long tail keywords will have to suffer. As stated in SERoundtable archive about MayDay Update seroundtable.com/archives/022128.html, there is something to think for SEOs to have their bread butter going. As it will be difficult for all to target short keywords that are highly competitive in nature. Only the big SEO companies that have enough to pay and get links to their targeted keywords. Small SEO companies and small businesses will suffer from this as neither the small business enterprise have enough money to spend for the competitive keywords nor the small SEO companies have to do so to promote them.

Thus, SEO might play in the hand of those who have the Power of Money.

Well at present I don't like it and I have disable it on my PC !!!!

yeah but it would definitely impact the seo, the sites relying on long tail keywords would have to come with a new strategy.

Since it suggests keywords (which is not good for those relying on long-tail), I think we can safely assume that the rich will get richer and the poor will get poorer. So, maybe the actual SEO techniques won't change but the long-tail theory of keyword demand will not be an 80-20 rule anymore. I'm guessing more like 70-30... time will tell.

No impact on search results since Real Time Search and Web Search on Google are completely different.
